Q. Do Libraries have CD-ROMs or DVDs? How can I use them?
- We have this item in our collection. Access procedures vary by library, so please check with each library for details.
Hon-kan
- If they are the materials that accompany books, a sticker saying "付属CDあり" is attached to the book itself, so you can request it at the service desk when you check out the book.
- Also, for CD-ROMs and DVDs that, when searched in the OPAC, show the location as "Central:1F Counter" please request them at the service desk as well.
- The ways of their use may vary depending on the material, such as whether it can be borrowed or only used inside the library. You can check the "In Library Use Only" status in the OPAC or contact the service desk for inquiries.
Hino-kan
- Supplementary materials accompanying books may be borrowed for the same period as the book itself. Ask at the service desk when borrowing the book.
- The lending period for audiovisual materials such as CD-ROMs and DVDs is one week. To borrow these items, bring an empty case to the service desk.
(※Residents of Tokyo cannot borrow audiovisual materials. Please view them within the library.)- Non-circulating materials may be viewed within the library.
Arakawa-kanItems cannot be checked out, except for book supplements. Please use the library computers or AV equipment.
※Lending is available only to faculty members of this university.

Q. Do Libraries have graduation theses, master’s theses, and doctor’s theses?
Hon-kan
- Graduation theses are not held.
- Doctoral and master's theses are held. You can refer to the relevant page of academic theses to get to know how to access them.
Hino-kanSystems Design Library (Hino-kan) holds the following theses.
- Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Technology
- Tokyo Metropolitan University, Guraduate School and Faculty of Systems Design

Arakawa-kanSenior theses and dissertations are kept in a separate room. Please fill out a ‘Viewing Request Form’ and submit it at the service desk (Senior theses are available only to members of this university).

Q. Can I get journals that are 1 to 2 years old since publication, for free?

- We hope you understand that we cannot take requests to keep them for you in advance or inform you when they will be released for recycling.
Hino-kanSome journals are given to library users after their retention period has ended. Reused journals may be taken freely. The timing for providing reused journals is not fixed, so check directly at the Systems Design Library's reuse materials corner.
Arakawa-kanWe do not give away back issues of journals.
