Visiting use (with letter of introduction)
Important points
- Only materials that have been specified in advance can be viewed and copied.
- A letter of introduction is required for use. Please contact the library by email in advance. At that time, search in the Tokyo Metropolitan University OPAC and specify the material title, location, call number, material ID, user's name, affiliation, and desired date.
- To view original items from the Central Library's precious materials, you must submit an application form in advance along with a letter of introduction. Check the precious materials usage instructions and contact the person in charge of precious materials via email.
About the letter of introduction
- There is no set format, but please include the title of the material, material ID, user's name, affiliation, and date of use.
- An official seal is not required.
- Prepare one letter of introduction for each day of use.
Possible dates of use
- It is available on days when the library is open. Please check the annual calendar.
- Those who bring a letter of introduction may use the library even during exam periods.

About copying on the day
- You will need to make copies yourself. The library does not provide proxy services.
- For cash, only coins and old 1,000 yen bills can be used. Making change is not possible.
- Fees: Black and white: 10 yen per sheet; Color: 30 yen per sheet
- In addition to cash, a co-op copy card can be used.
- Receipts cannot be issued.

Application method
- Libraries participating in the ILL system should apply via the NACSIS-ILL system.
- Non-participating libraries should contact the library via email, including inquiries regarding holdings surveys. At that time, search in the Tokyo Metropolitan University OPAC and specify the material title, location, call number, material ID, user's name, and affiliation.
Copying costs
- Black and white: 45 yen per sheet
- Color: 90 yen per sheet
- Shipping fees are charged separately.
Payment
- Payment for libraries participating in the NACSIS-ILL offset service will be offset.
- Non-participating libraries must transfer payment to the designated bank account within one month of the shipping date (use the institution name, not the individual requester's name, as the remitter).
