Notice of the Systems Design Library Closure and Service Restrictions Due to Compact Shelving Renovation and Collection Inventory

The Systems Design Library (Hino-kan) will conduct renovation work on its electric compact shelving system and a collection inventory check from September 1 to September 27, 2026. As a result, the library will be closed for part of this period, and some services will be temporarily restricted.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Library Closure
September 7 (Mon.) - September 18 (Fri.), 2026
- The library will also be closed on weekends and public holidays before and after this period, as usual. Therefore, the library will effectively be closed from September 5 (Sat.) to September 23 (Wed., public holiday), 2026.
- During the closure period, circulation and counter services, including borrowing, returning, and library registration, will not be available. The only exception is the pickup of completed document delivery and interlibrary loan requests (see **Other Information** below).
- Please return library materials using the book drop located at the library entrance. We will process them on or after Thursday, September 24 (returns will be recorded as having been made on the previous opening day).
Service Restrictions
No Access to the Stack Area and Suspension of Use of Stack Materials
September 1 (Tue.) - September 25 (Fri.), 2026
- Access to the stack area will not be permitted, and materials kept there, including books and journals, will not be available for use. Since September 26 and 27 are weekend closure days, access and use of these materials will resume on September 28 (Mon.), 2026.
Communication Space 1 (CS1) Unavailable
September 1 (Tue.) - September 25 (Fri.), 2026
- Communication Space 1 (CS1) will be unavailable during this period. Since September 26 and 27 are weekend closure days, CS1 will reopen on September 28 (Mon.), 2026.
- Communication Space 2 (CS2) will remain available as usual, except on library closure days.
Suspension of Requests for Hino Library Materials
5:00 p.m. on August 31 (Mon.) - 10:00 a.m. on September 28 (Mon.), 2026
- Requests to place holds on or have materials from the Systems Design Library (Hino-kan) delivered to another campus library will not be accepted during this period.
Other Information
Document Delivery and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Requests
- Applications for document delivery and interlibrary loan services can be submitted as usual. However, requests submitted after 5:00 p.m. on September 3 (Thu.), 2026 will be processed on or after September 24 (Thu.), 2026.
- If your requested materials are already prepared for pickup, they can be collected on weekdays between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please enter through the staff entrance on Basement Level 1 of Building No. 2 and speak to a staff member.
